Law of Attraction: How to deal with negative emotions
You are attracting and manifesting physical reality all the time but presence of negative emotions means you are manifesting things you do not want, while presence of positive emotions means you are manifesting things you do want.
In manifesting intentions the type of work you do is very different depending on your current emotional state.
Many people do not understand that and fall for the most popular and totally fruitless law of attraction practice such as visualizing money in the middle of financially desperate and depressive situation or visualizing health in the middle of fearful health condition.
You absolutely need to resolve your background negativity first or your wonderful attractive powers will be directed to attract more of what you do not want.
The general approach to correct manifestation work is this:
- Extinguish emotional fire (in case you’re in the middle of emotional turmoil).
- Transcend negativity (dismantle foundation of present negative emotion).
- Proceed with targeted manifestation practices.
Rushing into visualizations is fruitless until negative emotions (resistance) is taken care of first.
In my law of attraction coaching practice I recommend clients to use simple conscious breathing techniques and Ho’oponopono to find a quick relief when faced with an extreme or sharply negative emotions.
Many people experiencing habitual negative background chatter and negative emotional reactions on a daily or even hourly basis. These reactions are very poisonous in their negative attracting power.
Dismantling the foundation of negative emotion – transcending negativity – is very important step. Done properly it helps to accomplish much more than just bringing emotional relief.
This work will help you quickly and permanently eliminate limiting beliefs that been holding your progress and growth for many years.
Negativity transcending process works quickly, measurably and it will not require you to dig all the way back into your painful childhood memories.
People approach the challenging task of dealing with negative emotions in a few different ways:
- Suppressing/ignoring negative emotions. It just helps negative energy to accumulate, pile up inside the body and results in all kinds of diseases, strokes and ailments, including the deadly ones.

- Expressing negative emotions. This results in outbursts of anger, violence, fights and all sort of disturbances and wars. While giving momentary emotional relief it does nothing to resolve the root cause of negativity and either just make situations worse or cause them to reoccur and often with more problems.
- Escaping/distracting/avoiding negative emotions. This approach involves willful shift of attention to more pleasurable activities to achieve on the spot relief. Addictions to pain killers, drugs, anti-depressants, alcohol, self-cutting, sex, sleep, food and other “quick fixes” are the most common ways to escape painful inner negativity.
This of course does nothing as well to resolve negative situation and related emotions from frequent reappearing.
- Releasing emotions. “Releasing” emotion may or may not work for you depending on how you approach it. If you transcend emotion (see below) – it goes away for good including the situation and all related associations that caused it.
But most frequent and often totally fruitless application of “releasing” usually involves focusing on eliminating negative emotional sensation “as is”. Releaser can easily fall back to “suppressing” or “escaping” mode without even realizing it. Another variation of “releasing” according to certain teachings involves “diving deep into the pure feeling itself” and realizing that there is nothing out there. I never heard of many (or in fact any) people having lasting success with this way of dealing with negative emotions.
There are number of self-improvement modalities dedicated to “releasing” emotions.
I made a deep analysis of these systems including intense personal practices and personal interviews with their creators. After approximately 5 years of practices and observations I made very interesting discovery.Approximately half of people who reported either little or no lasting benefits from “releasing” are the ones who are falling back to “suppressing” or “escaping” way.
These are the group of people who are already in habits of suppressing or avoiding emotions for many years.
The really successful “releasers” are participants who actually managed to transcend their emotions, but often also without realizing it.
- Transcending emotions – the correct way.
It’s the powerful process that works the best when person understands exact steps that are involved in it.
In order to understand the correct way to transcend negativity it is important to understand the cause of emotion and how it arises.
Here’s what happens within our mind/body/spirit system:
Situation/Event/Condition -> Our Interpretation -> Emotion.
Situation happens and triggers the mind’s “interpretation engine”. Depending on thoughts – our subjective interpretation of situation – we feel either positive or negative emotion.
Transcending emotion means transcending resistance and it involves conscious change of interpretation of situation.
Inherently no situation, event or condition HAS ANY MEANING to it at all.
That is UNTIL we decide to give some meaning to it. Positive or negative.
Meaning is something we give to situation according to our previous conditioning – education, beliefs, past experiences, social and cultural backgrounds.
Snowfall is an irritation to car driver, joy to winter resort owner and non-event to someone enjoying movie at home.
Inherently it’s just a weather condition interpreted differently by different people.
Long line to the checkout cash register can either cause irritation to the ones who are at the end of the line or progressively growing joyful emotional feelings to others who are getting closer to checkout.
Yet the wise one standing at the end of the line could choose to interpret it as a positive opportunity to transcend his negative emotions by practicing change of his attitude toward the situation.
$50 bill on the ground feels like a disaster to one (who lost it), total joy to another (who found it) and non-event to millions who never stumbled upon it. Although it’s just the same piece of paper lying on the same spot.
These are synonyms:
Meaning == Interpretation == Belief == Attitude
Your task and your perfect ability and your perfect opportunity is to change them so that your feelings, your emotions will improve.
We can change our interpretation of ANY situation, no matter what situation is.
If we change the meaning we give to situation to more positive – our emotional feelings will change accordingly and big chunk of resistance will be released. Permanently.

Assigning different meaning to familiar yet painful past event could transcend many years worth of misery and suffering into positive and permanent life shift. When your attitude toward event or situation changes – you feelings, thoughts and even body chemistry will change too.
The situation suddenly bothers you much less and you find yourself starting to attract very different and much more positive experiences in your life.
This is the method to happiness that is taught by many masters albeit with the use of different words.
For example Abraham names it “going general”. Jesus calls it “Love your Enemy”.
Thousands of wise ones calls it “Forgiveness”.
And that’s exactly how forgiveness works – you decide to give different meaning, change your interpretation, have different attitude toward someone whom you want to forgive.
There are scientifically described cases where the act of forgiving allowed person to heal from deadly cancers.
That is the power of transcending resistance!
Transcending your negative emotions is not just a quick fix of feelings – it’s a bit of a creative intellectual work on finding different meaning to the events or situations.
The key to this practice is reaching for the better feeling thought, for more positive interpretation of situation.
Make your new interpretation to conjure the feelings of emotional relief. This is a sure sign of successful practice and released resistance.
The best way to learn transcending negativity practice is to do it on a regular basis, and in writing.
Once you get the grip on this practice you’ll notice that it is easy for you to do this work when you are walking, driving or even communicating with people.
This is the essence of the method that Lester Levenson used when he “squared everything with love”. Eventually it allowed him to achieve full spiritual self-realization and fully recover from all his diseases including the deadly ones.
