Default Linda's story #2: Living in The Now

This is the second message from Linda.
Copied with Linda's personal permission

I agree about what you are saying about some of our modern gurus. Especaily the LoA stuff. I have read alot about this and it just seems time consuming and thought altering. But to each his/her own. My experiance has taught me I will get the things I need(not want) when it is time. No need to go into all the rituals.
My "needs" are always met. I remember one time very early in soberity, calling my sponsor all in a tizzy because the lights had been disconnected. Her reply,"Do you have candles and oatmeal" Yes, " then all your needs are met". I had light and something to eat. What more could I possibly NEED.
Nor do I see God as the elderly man high in the sky. I see God everyday in alot of situations. I live in a rural community(after being relocated after Hurricane Rita), and on my way to work I see deer, fox, lots of baby calves, ect. This is how I taught my son about God. In nature and babies laughter, in sunrises and sunsets. You get the idea.
Went to your sight, but did not have alot of time to go thru it. I signed up. I am off today so will not have time constraints to guide my day.
I know when I read both books by Tolle, it made perfect sense as that is alot of what 12 steps teaches. Here and Now. This space in time. Use my past as a frame of reference, and tomorrow is not here yet, so enjoy the moment.
There is so much happiness and contentment to be had in our lives. I stopped trying to find the perfect Linda, as I am perfect just the way I am. That took alot of time and there are many times I loose sight of this when I am trying to run the show.
Humans amaze me, why do we fall into old habits when we KNOW it doesn't work?
I would love to have one difinitive answer for that one. Any suggestions?
You are welcome to post our conversations. I have nothing to hide or protect.
It is wonderful to have someone to exchange thoughts, experiances, ect. with. As I said I live in a rural farming community and edit what I think when speaking with others. That doesn't mean I don't slip things in now and then (giving them something to think about), but I don't have too many to talk to about my own beliefs.
So thank you for taking the time to reply and not having an "all or nothing" attitude. I will continue on my journey, searching, listening, observing, practicing what works...
